Registered Nurse - Endoscopy

Salary: up to £39,500

Hours: Monday-Sunday, 37.5 hours per week, on a local rota

Location: A range of mobile sites across the UK

InHealth is CQC registered and a JAG accredited provider of endoscopy services in community gastroenterology clinics and we were the first provider to offer trans-nasal gastroscopy in the UK. Our team of Registered Nurses and Operating Department Practitioners in endoscopy provide vital services for patients, delivering the best standard of care and helping to reduce waiting times at local hospitals. As a Registered Nurse in our endoscopy clinics, you will deliver a professional and efficient service, working alongside your colleagues in our dynamic and fast-paced sites.

What you will do:

  • Deliver endoscopy services in our sites to the highest standards for our patients, carrying out pre, peri and post endoscopy care
  • Use a model of care that recognises the psychological, physical and social needs of our patients, including evaluating and responding to changes in patient's conditions
  • Maintain a professional profile and develop your skills, knowledge and competencies so that you adhere to the core professional skill areas, NMC Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics, and InHealth's policies and procedures
  • Report complaints and incidents to the senior nurse and participate when investigations are required
  • Maintain professional competencies and CPD, by attending courses and taking part in further training to enhance the role and meet the specialist needs of the department.

What you are responsible for:

  • Maintaining a high level of professionalism, customer care, and service provision
  • Providing a safe care environment, including preparing and clearing up rooms and equipment, with particular care over infection control and safe working environments for patients, visitors and staff
  • Taking part in clinical audits
  • Following strict security and health and safety protocols when returning damaged scopes for repair, liaising with the senior nurse as appropriate
  • Adhering to the requirements of the Data Protection Act
  • Making sure information is handled and exchanged with care and accuracy, in a timely and sensitive manner, maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
  • Promoting a culture of constant quality and performance improvement
  • Effectively communicating and appropriately responding to all visitors
  • Maintaining an awareness of the need for good housekeeping, helping to make sure that ward stock levels are kept to optimum agreed limits
  • Complying with ISO standards in respect of Information Security Management
  • Adhering to all operational procedures as outlined by InHealth.
