Introduction:

InHealth Endoscopy Services work closely with primary care clinicians and commissioners to support the management of patients in the community and reduce waiting times at our local hospitals. We design locally agreed integrated pathways helping CCGs provide patient centred community endoscopy services through a one stop service. Our services include Transnasal & Oral Gastroscopy, Flexible Sigmoidoscopy, Colonoscopy, Bowel Scoping, and Community Gastroenterology Clinics.

About us:

InHealth is the UK's largest specialist provider of diagnostic and healthcare solutions. Our aim is to make healthcare better for patients by working collaboratively with the NHS to deliver a range of high-quality tests, scans, assessments and procedures. In the last year, we have supported more than 3 million people in their healthcare journeys, the majority of these are NHS patients and service users.

As a people-focused organisation, our teams are integral in how we deliver our services and our values of Trust, Passion, Care and Fresh Thinking underpin everything we do, influencing the way we interact with patients, customers, and colleagues.

Our mission is to be the preferred provider of high-quality diagnostics and healthcare solutions in hospitals and in accessible community settings, serving 5 million patients from 1,000 locations by 2025.

What you will do:

  • As an InHealth Consultant Gastroenterologist you will be supporting the clinical endoscopy team which provides endoscopy services across community-based units. You will be required to perform colonoscopy, gastroscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy and gastroenterology outpatient clinics for both NHS and private patients.

You can work with us in a variety of ways:

  • Full or part time employment
  • Practising privileges (work paid on a sessional basis, at a time and location which suits you)
  • NHS and private activity

Here's what we can offer you in your work:

  • The chance to deliver a range of diagnostic endoscopy procedures in purpose built static and mobile endoscopy units
  • The very best equipment, including high quality Olympus and Pentax endoscopes
  • The ability to join the JAG/JETS accredited InHealth Endoscopy Training Centre faculty
  • The opportunity to take on a clinical lead role
  • InHealth Endoscopists can perform private activity at any of our sites with free access to facilities
  • Practising privileges also allow Endoscopists to take up ad-hoc sessions to suit their other work commitments

What you are responsible for:

  • Performing the endoscopy procedures for which you are accredited either sedated or non-sedated, utilising the most appropriate technique depending on patient assessment and preference, according to the list pre-booked by InHealth Endoscopy
  • Following clinical protocols and policies developed by the company and tailored for use within the facility
  • Updating all patient records in accordance with JAG and GRS requirements
  • Achieving the JAG minimum requirements of endoscopists prior to service commencement and maintain this standard throughout the period of the contract
  • Advising the Medical Director (Endoscopy) of any matters which may affect their ability to practice and any matter which might bring into disrepute the professional or commercial standing of colleagues or the company
  • Providing oversight for the triage team
  • Providing advice and guidance for referrers from commissioning CCGs.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCST
  • An entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Gastroenterology or General Surgery
  • The ability to manage and lead a multi-professional team.

You should apply if you have the below experience:

  • A recognised period of work in a specialist department treating upper and lower gastrointestinal conditions
